(School Empowerment Project under Bakanje Women Empowerment Project)

Under WEPs godkendelseproces hos Den Danske Ambassade i Nepal fik vi tilbudt at udvide projektet med flere relevante programmer, hvis de kunne give WEP endnu mere styrke. Da WEP i høj grad drejer sig om advocacy (fortalervirksomhed) og kvindernes involvering i deres lokalsamfund og dens institutioner, øjnede vi chancen for at få vores ønsker om at komme i gang med SEP. Da et samarbejde mellem hjem-skole er stort set ikke eksisterende, og da den eneste kontakt der eksisterer synes at være gensidige beskyldninger om ikke at være engagerede nok, så bliver kernen i dette WEP-SEP at få etableret dette samarbejde. Vi vil forsøge at gennemføre programmet i 8 af WEPs 9 faser i samarbejde med en nepalesisk undervisningsekspert. Han skal sammen med WEP staben sikre at møderne mellem de 6 kvindegrupper og den lokale lærestab i hver af de 6 landsbyer skal foregå på en progressiv og sober måde. Disse møder skal så inspirere eksperten til at planlægge et pædagogisk uddannelsesforløb (SEP) for lærestaben i landsbyen, som skal gennemføres umiddelbart efter fællesmødet. Desuden vil vi formidle muligheden for at lade danske lærere supplere denne SEP. I foråret 2013 vil således Leif og Bodil Kristensen fra Nykøbing Mors tage til Bakanje og gennemføre deres eget SEP-program.

During the WEP approval process at the Danish Embassy in Nepal, we were offered to extend the project with relevant programs, if they could give WEP even more strength. Since WEP mainly is concerned with advocacy and women's involvement in their community and its institutions, we saw the chance to start yhe SEP. As a collaboration home-school is virtually nonexistent, and as the only contact that exists seems to be mutual accusations of not being committed enough, then the core of this WEP-SEP is to establish this collaboration. We will try to implement the program in 8 of WEP's 9 stages in collaboration with a Nepalese teaching expert. He, together with WEP staff, shall ensure that meetings between the 6 women's groups and local education staff in each of the 6 villages must be done in a progressive and sober way. These meetings shall inspire the expert to plan an educational program (SEP) for the teachers staff of the village school, to be implemented immediately after the joint meeting. We will also convey the possibility that Danish teachers supplement this SEP. In the spring of 2013, Leif and Bodil Kristensen Nykøbing will go to Bakanje and implement their own SEP program.
